Private tours of Vietnam, planned by the people who live here

We have been designing and running trips in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia since 2001. Every itinerary on this site is a starting point — tell us what you want to change and a planner in our Hanoi office will rework it.

What we actually do

We are a tour operator based in Hanoi, not an agency reselling someone else's product. Our guides are on our payroll, our drivers know the roads they drive, and the person who writes your itinerary is the person you can call when a flight moves.

Trips people book most

Three routes that cover most of what travellers ask us for. All of them are private, and all of them can be lengthened, shortened or rebuilt around your dates.

Where to go in Vietnam

Nine regions cover almost every trip we run. Each page explains what the place is actually like, when to come and which of our trips go there.

Why book with a local operator

  • You talk to the people who run the trip, not to a call centre in another time zone
  • Guides are regional — the person walking with you in Pu Luong lives there
  • When something goes wrong at 11pm, our office is awake and forty minutes away
  • Prices come without the layer that an overseas reseller adds
  • We have been operating continuously since 2001 and hold Travelife Certified status

Tell us about your trip

Send us your dates, how many of you there are and roughly what you want the trip to feel like. You will get a real itinerary and a price back within one working day — not a brochure.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only sell fixed itineraries?
No. Everything on this site is private and adjustable, and most of what we run ends up different from the page it started on. The itineraries exist to give you something concrete to react to.
How far ahead should we book?
For travel between October and April, three to four months is comfortable. Ha Long cabins, Hoi An hotels and the Tet holiday period fill first.
What is included in your prices?
Accommodation, transport including internal flights where the route needs them, guides, entrance fees and the meals listed on each itinerary. International flights, visas and personal insurance are not.
Can you handle a group?
Yes — families travelling together, small private groups and interest groups such as cycling or photography clubs. Above about sixteen people we split into two vehicles with two guides.
What happens if a flight or a cruise is cancelled?
We rebook it. Weather closures in Ha Long and flooding in central Vietnam happen most years, and our supplier contracts allow for it.
